How it works

Fill the bill.

FILLBILL is a board for New York's indie music community: the bands, rooms, bookers and series putting on shows around the city. A bill is a set of slots, each one open or filled. Anyone can offer an act or a room into an open slot.

No messaging, no ratings, no feed. Just bills, and the people filling them.

A · for acts and rooms

Find a bill, pitch your act

See open slots →
  1. Step 1Browse the board

No account needed. Narrow it to open slots, or tap a genre or mood.

  2. Step 2Open a bill

See the lineup so far, what each open slot is looking for, and the terms.

  3. Step 3Offer your page

Sign in with an email link, pick your band or room and the slot, add a short note.

  4. Step 4Hear back

Accepted: the slot fills and you each get the other's email. Declined, you're told too.

B · for anyone putting on a show

Post a bill, fill it

Post a bill →
  1. Step 1Make your page

Your band, room, or series: a photo, a headline, links, and tags.

  2. Step 2Post the bill

A date and the slots you need, acts or a room. Put yourself in one if you're playing.

  3. Step 3Pick from offers

Offers land under each open slot. Accept one and the others are let go for you.

  4. Step 4Share the flyer

When every slot is filled, the bill turns into a flyer with the lineup's photos.

C · if you're already listed

Claim your page

Find your page →
  1. Step 1Find it

Some pages are built from venues' public calendars: name and links only, never contact info.

  2. Step 2Claim it

Use the link in the email we sent you, or ask to claim it and we'll check it's you.

  3. Step 3Make it yours

Add a photo, a headline, and tags, then offer it into bills.

D · for anyone named on one

Correct or remove a page

  1. Step 1Remove it, no login

Every unclaimed page has a remove link. It's gone right away and drops out of search.

  2. Step 2Fix what's wrong

Claim the page to edit it, and it's yours to correct.

Why one city

Starting with New York keeps the board small enough to be useful. Every calendar it reads is a room's own, read by a person before a show is listed. Every neighborhood is one people actually cross the city for. If it grows past the five boroughs, this page will say so first.

How lists are ordered

Board
Show date ascending. Within a date, bills with open slots first, then venue name, then posted date.
Directory
Name ascending, alphabetical.
Placement
Nothing is paid placement. Unclaimed profiles are ordered identically to claimed.
